Trying to figure out how to write a blog for affiliate marketing? Follow these 13 actionable steps and youโll be well on your way to getting targeted traffic to your content and consistent monthly revenue in no time.
Letโs break down each step in detail, shall we?
How To Write a Blog For Affiliate Marketing
First, choose a profitable niche based on your actual interests. Next, itโs about building content that is the ANSWER to your target audienceโs searches. Understanding keyword research plays a vital role in this.
Knowing how to write a blog for affiliate marketing isnโt about being a professional writer. In fact, nowadays AI and ChatGPT can be used to create content!
Itโs about being honest and giving your reader the best user experience possible to help connect them with exactly what theyโre looking for. This creates trust, and trust means return readers. Develop that relationship with your target audience and youโre well on your way to being a successful blogger with steady income to boot.

1. Choose your niche based on your passions and interests
When it comes to blogs thereโs one important thing to remember: you canโt be everything to everybody! Youโre not Amazon! You need a primary, central theme for your blog so your readers know what to expect. This can be literally anything, BUT it needs to be something you have a genuine interest or passion for.
The key to building traffic to a blog is to create a consistent stream of new content. And if youโre writing about something you have a genuine interest in, then this comes that much easier! If the goal for your blog is to create revenue through affiliate marketing, donโt try to come up with a niche that you believe is โuntappedโ (almost everything is โtappedโ).
Instead, go with something you have a true passion for or at the very least a general interest in. Whether itโs travel photography, chess, or 360 cameras, ANY NICHE YOU CHOOSE can be a profitable one when you build your affiliate marketing business right.
And it all starts with choosing a theme that interests you.
2. Build your website (Much easier than you think!)
So many people donโt even know where to start when it comes to building a website. Do not sweat this! The fact is, building a website isnโt hard! The process is WAY more straightforward than you think.
Are you going to have to learn how to โcodeโ? Will it be hard to customize? Will it even be able to handle real traffic? And how much will hosting cost? In my experience, the best place to build and host your website(s) is at Wealthy Affiliate.
Not only is Wealthy Affiliateโs web hosting top notch, allowing for heavy traffic to find your content without issue, but itโs one of the best affiliate marketing training platforms youโll find online.
The fact that Wealthy Affiliateโs hosting package (comparable to $250-$300/month packages elsewhere) comes included free with your Wealthy Affiliate membership is a huge win.

3. Target the popular keyword searches your target audience is making & know where to place your keywords! (Important!)
What are keywords, you ask? Keywords are the words or phrases people type into search engines. Keyword research is the study of those words or phrases to determine how much traffic the most popular searches can bring to your site.
Now weโre getting to the nitty gritty. Your content!
Imagine having the ability to know the exact searches your audience is making. It would be like owning a traditional brick and mortar business that has thousands of people waiting outside to come in and knowing EXACTLY what every single one of those people is looking to buy!
What would you do with a power like that?If youโre smart, youโd line your shelves with exactly what theyโre looking for, right? (See point #4!)
There are keyword research tools out there designed specifically to gather all the data from all the searches being made into search engines like Google. In my opinion, the best one youโll find online is called Jaaxy.

Check out โHow to Use Jaaxyโ for a detailed review of how Jaaxy works with all its bells and whistles! So much more than just a keyword research tool, this is my top tool in my arsenal that I use for every piece of content I write.
So how do these popular keywords fit into the writing of your content?
Think of Google as a machine that is desperately trying to connect people with answers to their questions. It analyzes the millions of bits of content online and spits out the most relevant answers. And how does Google know whatโs relevant? Itโs by the strategic placement of the keywords youโre targeting within your content!
Place your keywords into your postโs url, the post title, and into the first paragraph to make sure Google understands exactly what your content is the answer to. But donโt keyword stuff! Google is smart and will reject your content as โspammyโ if done wrong!
4. Make your content the answer to your target audienceโs searches
This is the โlining your shelves with exactly what your customers are looking forโ concept we touched on earlier. When you do good keyword research and you find the searches your target audience is making, make your content the ANSWER to those searches! Answer the question at hand directly. Truly help your audience.
If itโs a product or service theyโre searching for, review it honestly (see point #8). This is a critical element to enhancing the user experience that leaves your audience satisfied, builds rapport, and brings them back for more.
5. Choose โlow hanging fruitโ keywords so your content will rank!
When you go after a super popular keyword that 300 other websites are targeting, your article will just get lost in the abyss of the internet. But when you choose a keyword that has low competition it is that much easier to rank for it.

So letโs say youโre in the โmake money onlineโ niche and youโre ready to target the most popular keyword searches your audience is making. One of the HIGHLY popular searches will most definitely be โhow do I make money online?โ
But guess what? Every other blogger in your niche knows that too and has created content to be the answer to that question. In fact, some of these bloggers are heavyweights, with authority websites that yours will need a lot of time and authority building before it can hope to compete with.
Not to worry! Jaaxy breaks down the keyword research data to allow you to find keywords that bring traffic but have much less competition. These are the โlow hanging fruitโ keywords youโre after!

6. Donโt โtellโ or โsellโ your audience, show them!
This point really goes towards creating a great user experience. When your reader feels that they are actually being helped, they will return over and over again.
Think about it, would you go back to a website where you feel like the title was click bait? Would you go back to a website where you feel like the question you had wasnโt answered at all? Of course not!
So, to that point, donโt โsellโ. Create your posts so that they are legitimately answering the question at hand.
Never use click-bait. Your readers are much too smart to fall for that and you will never get them back. Be conversational with your content and truly explain your points using examples when possible. Donโt just answer with a list of points. Take the time to explain each one fully.
Put yourself in your readersโ shoes.
โDoes this post fully answer the question at hand?โ โDo the points in this post make sense and have a good flow to them?โ โWould a video help explain this question much more clearly?โ
So many times I see affiliate marketers forgetting about the PERSONAL aspect of this lucrative industry. Sure, affiliate marketingโs bottom line is about making money. But you can multiply your profits by 10 times or more by simply establishing a real connection with your reader.
When your reader sees you as a real person they are much more likely to connect with you and your point of view. This leads to traffic that returns many times past the first visit. You donโt need to ramble about who you are and why you should be listened to in every post you publish.
Instead, a simple โAbout Meโ page that is easily found on your website (preferably linked to from your main menu) is all you need. Make sure it has your picture, tells your story, and shares where youโre coming from.
Let your audience see that youโre a person that shares a point of view not too different from their own. Check out my About Me page here.
8. Honesty is the best policy
No matter how much you share about yourself, the second you become dishonest with your audience you will lose them forever! This means being honest with your reviews and not saying a product or service is โGREAT!โ just because youโll get a commission from that sale.
To that point, most people online nowadays understand that posts and websites that promote a product or service may receive commissions for doing so. But it is still legally and ethically important to have a disclaimer somewhere easy to spot on your site.
If you really want to stand out from the crowd online be transparent. Share your success stories but donโt exaggerate them. In my experience I have had by far the most success when Iโve been 100% transparent with what I write about in my posts.
9. Use attention grabbing titles & headlines
Getting ranked on page 1 of the Google search results doesnโt guarantee your article is going to get clicked on. You need to grab your readersโ attention!
Clearly visible, easy to read headlines are very important for your content. In this day and age of the internet, your readers have very short attention spans. When they arrive at your article they will actually start scanning your article rather than reading it from the top down. In fact, the average reader only read about 14% of the words on the page!
Take the following 2 sample titles:
- โMy Meat Free Burger Recipeโ
- โSlap Your Mama Meat Free Burgers โ Vegan in One Bite!โ
Which one would you click on? See what I mean?
10. Donโt greet your readers with a wall of text
You donโt want to read this. You donโt want to read one word of this just from the look of the paragraph. Itโs a massive wall of unattractive, hard to read text. This paragraph is an instant back-button-pressing-get-me-out-of-this-website-post-wrecker. Right now youโre thinking to yourself, โIs he really going to make me read through all this copy to get his point across? Ok. We get it. This wall of text is horrible. Make it stop. Please make it stop. Wait, maybe I should read through this just in case thereโs something hidden in the wall of text. Would he do that just to make a point? No. Heโs not. He knows that Iโm thinking that and heโs using it against me. Well now Iโm so far in I might as well finish it all out. Itโs too late for me. Tell my family I loved them. When I woke up this morning I had no idea this would be the end of me. No more sunny skies. No more birds chirping. Say goodbye to all aspirations of traveling the world. Just this never-ending wall of text for the rest of my days. What a cruel, cruel way to goโฆโ
Ok that was just painful, wasnโt it?
Please never do that to your readers.
The rules of reading a book and reading a web page are completely different. On a website you need lots of white space and well spaced visuals. You need short, quick paragraphs to make scanning easier. Keep your paragraphs short, just 3-4 sentences long, depending on the length of those sentences.
And remember to be visual! Find relevant graphics and place them strategically throughout your content. Make sure your images are optimized allowing your page to load fast. Use good visuals and you will really enhance the user experience for your reader.
11. Partner with relevant affiliate programs
Hereโs the MONEY part! See, itโs not about just randomly posting content to a blog and throwing in a few affiliate links and sitting back and watching cash flow in.
It doesnโt work that way!
You have to put together a blog that ACTUALLY ATTRACTS YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE FIRST, and THEN you can monetize that traffic through affiliate marketing! Partnering with merchants and their affiliate programs is the easy part. Itโs free, and a few like Amazon will basically accept you as an affiliate regardless of how much traffic your website brings in.
Most offer commissions between 1%-10% per sale, which isnโt bad when you consider the volume of sales your site can make when itโs bringing in targeted traffic. And then thereโs the affiliate programs that offer big chunks of commissions.
Mix those into your bag and your conversions can really start producing. As an example, Wealthy Affiliateโs affiliate program offers commissions of almost 50%. Thatโs huge!

12. Make Your content sexy and post often!
When you take the time to focus on a great user experience for your readers, your content becomes SEXY. It has relevance, it is visually stimulating, the information flows, and your readers find the answers they are searching for. This translates to repeat visitors who come back for more and more!
And you know what else keeps them coming back? BRAND NEW CONTENT!
You may not feel like youโre a โwriterโ, but none of us do. It just takes some practice. Think about it like this. We talk all day, right? All those words translated to the page would be NOVELS we are writing every single day. So make your content conversational. Be funny (if possible) and keep the tone light.
Treat your posts like conversations with a friend. Be honest & get your point across by showing them the answer, not just by telling them where to look.
A great practice is to create an average of 2-3 posts per week for your blog or website. Over time, this adds up to 100-150 new articles per year. Google LOVES activity and this brings site authority and consistent traffic!
13. Create Something to Talk About in the Comments
Google loves engagement! When your articles are bringing in some steady comments, Google sees this as proof and confirmation that readers are finding what theyโre looking for and asking for more. This is a GREAT WAY to get your posts ranking!
So how do you drive up that engagement? Simply ask your readers to leave comments! Direct them to ask questions, share their experience, and ALWAYS reply back!
Sometimes a timely comment can open up a whole discussion that gets other readers involved as well. Now you have content that is sparking conversations, answering questions, and worthy of being on the front page of Googleโs search results page!

Thanks for the 9 tips of the Dos and Don’ts. I have had my blog for almost a year now and I am still grabbing the concept of writing my blog correctly. I will definitely from now on greeting my audience with visual. Never thought of that before, I always thought of visuals just to target the topic that I was talking about. I also tell my audiences who I am and what I am going through with my life. I feel that if I am real, I am more relatable and they trust me more. Hopefully I can convert them into revenue which is my ultimate goal. Jaxxy is a great keyword tool to do the research. When I run out of ideas I also use the alphabet soup options or related keywords, they are a lifesaver! I have just installed the Pretty Links, not sure how to use but what you said makes a lot of sense, I will make sure to use it on all my affiliate links to make them shorter.
Thanks again, Cheers!
Very glad to help! Glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for the comment!
Great tips Eric,
I think the most important part of all is showing who the owner of the blog is as that creates trust and plus as a consumer, I tend to remember the owner’s face too and although I won’t be spending on that very day myself, I’ll have this tendency to come back to the website because I remember the blogger instead the blog itself.
There are millions of blogs out there and they tend to die but showing who you are, it has this seriousness about it which shouts “I’m here to stay” wouldn’t you agree ๐
Very true. Trust is built on showing your audience that you’re a regular person who shares their passion. It’s an often overlooked aspect of blogging, but it pays off. Thanks for the comment!
Hi Eric! I enjoyed your post and the Infographic at the end is really worth sharing with friends.
I’ll take action and follow these recommendations. I understand them and agree with them all, but the one that has really sticked with me, is “not greeting our readers with a wall of text”. And thanks for delivering this point in a way that I’ll always remember.
I’m really glad you enjoyed this! And yes, share that infographic to any and all who could benefit from it. Thanks for the comment!
Hi! Excellent article! I’ve just got to say I did read the entire paragraph of the ‘wall of text’ example you used. I cracked myself up doing it so it wasn’t TOO boring, but you’re absolutely right, I was tempted to skip it. I’m actually more of a reader than a visual person, too. LOL! I agree with all your excellent suggestions.
Well, except the PrettyLinks one. I use pretty links only for visual URLs, like if I were to post the actual URL in a post instead of using a hyperlink. Or on social media. Then I use Bitly usually. In websites, you can’t actually see the ugly-form of the URL and it shows them the exact domain that they’ll be going to if they hover over the link, so my audience can know it’s trustworthy. Say, Amazon or eBay or whatever. I know that I often hover over links just to see if I want to head to that destination.
However, other people often use PrettyLinks. So perhaps it’s just taste.
Thanks for the tips. I definitely need to add more sexy to my blog, I think. ^_^
Really glad you enjoyed this! Thanks for the comment!
Perhaps the most useful guide I have ever gotten so far in my experience as an affiliate marketer I agree with everything you pointed out in this article most especially the part of coming real to your visitors so they can connect with you. I implement this in my everyday blogger journey.
thanks for the awesome recommendations and advice I sure will bookmark this and come back to reflect. Thanks æ million for sharing
I really appreciate the kind words! Thanks so much!
Thanks for your site. I recently started a website so this was informative for me and will help me improve my website. Do you have any advice on putting links in website? Do you think its better to put links within pictures or within titles? I’m trying to figure out the best way to put affiliate links on my site without making visitors feel like their being bombarded.
You definitely don’t want to overload your posts with affiliate links. Just place them where they are relevant and appropriate and you’ll be fine. Never create a link just to create a link. Always have everything work within the context of what you’re talking about. ๐ Thanks for the comment!
Hey man I LOVE YOUR ARTICLE!!! I am a veteran Internet Marketer and I have Favorited your site. So I can read this again and implement your ideas. I learned a lot and I also laughed a few times. Thanks! One thing that caught me is your use of Pretty Links. My first thought was. I have enough plugins on my Wordpress site. Should I add another? Don’t get me wrong GREAT ADVICE! But should I add another if it slows down my site. I think if I add another. This one would be it. Those Affiliate links are important. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! The Pretty Links plugin is a small one so it shouldn’t slow down your site at all. If for any reason it doesn’t play well with your other plugins and slows it down, you can always remove it ๐
Hi Eric,
You said that we should tell our audience about us so they will know who are they dealing with. I agree with that, I think that’s vital especially if you are building a website where you are marketing yourself like a success coaching niche. But what if I’m building a website about drones that I plan to sell later? Is the concept of injecting myself in the scenario also applicable? Or, is it better if I remain incognito so by the time I need to sell the site there will be no more hassles.
~ Gomer
Always share who you are, no matter the niche. Share your story, what got you interested in drones, why you started the website, etc. This is how you get your audience to connect and stay with you. Incognito sellers can be seen as shady sellers. Make any site you have not just about selling, but sharing the joy you have with your niche and you’ll see the engagement go through the roof. Thanks for the comment!
hi Eric, I knew *some* of this before, but I think your setting out of all the points is VERY helpful. I need to improve my writing with a little more detailed research and I will try pretty links. Thank you for your article. How long does it take you on average to write?
It really varies depending on the subject matter. Reviews can take longer start to finish because of the research involved. Articles like this that list tips and strategies point by point can be put together quicker. It’s all about practice and getting your routine down. Thanks for the comment!
Great points Eric! I’ll be sure to put these to good use when I write my next article. Definitely need to add some more ‘sexy’ to my posts haha.
haha glad you enjoyed this, brother! Thanks for the comment!
Very helpful and easy to understand information Eric. Thank you
Very glad this was helpful to you, Debra! Thanks for the comment!
I also think honesty is important but how should I mention about the cons of the products. If I do it in a harsh way people may misinterpret that. What do you recommend for that?
When you’re doing a review of a product, your readers absolutely want to hear about its drawbacks if there are any. While you don’t need to be “harsh” it’s still very important to be honest about them. This is the entire point of the review. Your readers will appreciate your honesty and will continue to follow your reviews knowing they can trust your writing. ๐ Thanks for the great question!
Eric,
Great points on getting people to read your post. I’ve found that having a great title is the best starting point. An attention grabber will be the thing to get them to your site.
Most people are visual, they do not read but the first few words in each paragraph. Having the right mix of words and visuals will give you a winning post.
Great suggestion for the keyword research tool. In the past I had only used a Google research tool, but Jaaxy has much more. Looks like I’ve found a winner!
Thanks for the information.
John
Very glad you enjoyed the post! And yes, Jaaxy is my absolute go-to for keyword research! I don’t start one single post without it! Thanks for the comment!
Thank you so so much for amazing and useful article. i have a parenting website too and I always find new and better ideas to write articles. I really love they way you have explained the tips along with dos’s and donts. I am going to bookmark this. This is so beneficial for all the people who usually write articles not only for their affiliate work and as students if they want to write article as their assignment. Thank you so much for this amazing post.
I’m very glad you enjoyed this. When you focus on the user experience, I feel like everything else falls into place. Thanks for the comment!
Great article. Definitely bookmarking this. Thanks!.
Glad to help ๐
Thank you for sharing this great article on how to write an article for affiliate marketing, I enjoyed reading this very helpful information and I had learn a lot and I like the way you well explain this 9 steps, you said to make our content sexy by using a pop up pictures, what tool do you used to do this? I’m looking forward to heard from you and thank you in advance.Hopefully
I’m glad you enjoyed the article ๐ When I mention using images that pop I just mean using images that are easy on the eyes and go well with the content. No program is needed for that. You just want to find images that are relevant and not boring. Visuals are important when it comes to websites. When you have good ones, it can really help your reader continue along the page. Thanks for the comment!
Not only did you share some great information on article-writing, but you made it enjoyable. I loved your “wall of text” and that is something I always have to pay attention to because I get all excited and start typing, and before I know it, there it is, the wall of text lol!
One thing I really liked about your article was that you had those nice blue headlines. I think my theme only has one color, I’m going to have to research that. I really liked those big, bold, blue headlines and they catch your attention.
I also liked your big list at the end. How did you create that? Did you use Canva or another program like that?
Pretty Links I just learned about, but then I found out Amazon doesn’t allow them, so I never use them for my Amazon links.
Thank you for you kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the wall of text. It’s been a big hit, lol. And yes I built the infographic with Canva. It’s great for that. Thanks so much for your comment!
Nicely written! And I see you’re following the advice you put out there. Your site intrigues me. It’s fun, informative, and you’ve made no outragous promises when it comes to Affiliate Marketing.
I’m still learning some of the in’s and out’s, so I’m curious:
What was your BIGGEST challenge in building your business? How did you overcome it?
Shaunna
Every bit of the advice I put out in my articles is simply me passing on the great training I’ve received from the training community that I call home. I think the hardest part about building your own online business is finding the right training platform. Once I found this community, all I had to do was follow the course lessons ๐ Thanks so much for the comment. For my full review of the Wealthy Affiliate training platform showing how to make money with Wealthy Affiliate click here.
Hi Eric,
I actually read the wall of text ๐ I was waiting for it to end but I was trapped and I couldn’t get out til I reached the end. But I made it through, and a very important point was made! That was a very cool way to get the point across and I had a chuckle too. Thanks very much for the tips Eric. The one that I really need to work on is the “About me”. I deliberately haven’t written much about myself, nor have a photo of myself yet. I can see that this is not the best way to go, and hopefully my confidence will build enough for me to do that soon. I also don’t think my theme is very ‘sexy’ and therefore it makes it difficult for my posts to look sexy. The look of your post is lovely and clean, there’s no clutter, everything is spaced beautifully and it’s a pleasure to look at. Mine, on the other hand, is not, and I think I need to declutter and improve the look and feel.
Thanks very much for the food for thought.
Thank you for going through my wall of text and having a laugh, lol. I figured if anyone is going to read it, they might as well smile through it, right? With your About Me don’t be afraid to share who you are and why you’ve built your site. With mine, I’ve actually linked to my profile in the training community I call home. It’s actually a relief when your reader sees that you’re a regular person. Be confident! And yes, sometimes themes by their nature are a bit cluttered. Find one that lets your content breathe ๐ It really does help! Thanks for the comment!
Affiliate marketing is an online business I have always wanted to learn many years ago but I never came across the right people that will put me through. I have a little question on my mind about driving traffic to my website. Apart from social media, which other means can be used to drive massive traffic to my website?
Social media sharing is just a small snippet of where your overall traffic will come from. Search engines would be the largest source. When you’re trained on how to do good keyword research, and you follow these steps on how to write an article for affiliate marketing, your post will end up ranking high in the search engine results. This can mean massive traffic coming from Google, and the best part is that it comes FREE of charge. This is why affiliate marketing is such a lucrative industry with such a high ceiling. You have the power to have your content on a highly visible “shelf” in the global marketplace ๐ If you’re looking for some guidance in creating a successful affiliate marketing business, I highly recommend creating your free starter account with the training community I’m a part of. I’ve had nothing but positives from it, it’s thorough, and it delivers. Thanks for the comment!
I’m interested in the keyword research tool you mention here. What kinds of features does it have besides the basic keyword research feature. I’ve used a basic one before, but I’m interested in how can you utilize the other features to make ranking in Google that much easier? Nicely written article! Thanks for this!
-D
Jaaxy, in my opinion, is the best keyword research tool for SEO you’ll find online. The basic feature of keyword research is anything but basic. And when you incorporate all the other features like Search Analysis, Alphabet Soup, Site Rank, and more, you have a full featured keyword research tool that is the best tool you’ll carry in your toolbelt, bar none. Check out my Jaaxy review here for a detailed look at all its features and why I call it the best keyword research tool out there! Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for this! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for! You have some excellent tips on how to write articles for affiliate marketing. I have used some of these tips when I write content for my website but there are several here you’ve shined a light on that I have been missing. They do work even if you don’t consider yourself a writer. The headline is the big one. If you can write a compelling headline that alone will get your reader interested in your article. And if you show them exactly what you are writing about you will get followers and the sales won’t be far behind.
I’m very glad this article helped you! Thanks for chiming in! Make these steps a part of your writing routine and you’ll see that traffic grow!
Wow, Eric! This is so fabulous. I “know” these tips, but – just like you said – you SHOWED them to me.
I am going to be sure to take this information and use it to improve my own site. I think I’m having trouble with the “Be Relevant! Know Your Audience” point. I feel like I’m in my audience, but then I’m not 100% sure I’m targeting “my” audience. lol
Do you have suggestions about the best way to see what my audience needs help with so that I can provide better value for them?
Don’t overthink things. When you’re relevant and answering questions your audience would make then you’re doing your job. When you do good keyword research you can easily find those popular topics and questions being asked, and that’s a great way to have your finger on the pulse of your audience ๐ Thanks for the comment!
Great post here, Eric! I especially like how you summed it up with a nice graphic at the end highlighting your nine points. I agree with you in that no one likes to be told, but rather informed and/or enlightened. Thank you for introducing Pretty Links and Jaxxy Keyword finder. These two tools alone give your article great value, and your other suggestions are spot on.
By the way, I would love for you to do a post on how and where you get or create your graphics. They definitely pop off the page and grab your attention.
Thanks your this cool post!
I really like your article idea. I think I’ll add it to my list! Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it and I’m glad you enjoyed this post! Thanks for the comment!
Great tips, Eric, for how to write an article for affiliate marketing. I would like to be enlightened with regards to the Do number one and number four.
In one of my sites, I’m developing to help my target audience, I’ve honestly mentioned that I never get to schooling about that subject which I’m interested in and where I am blogging. But I made it clear in my About Page that although I did not go to school for that matter I can assure my group that I can help them through my experiences and I know what I have to do.
Will this honesty about myself will turn off my target group? Is there another way to present the truth about myself to capture their trust so I can build by online business?
Sincerity will win over your readers much quicker than degrees or plaques of achievement. When you have a genuine interest in the material you’re writing about, especially when you come from a perspective that is similar to your readers, they will relate to you. Too many people feel they need to be an “expert” in a field before they blog about it. This isn’t true. You can easily write product reviews about travel cameras, for example, without needing to be a professional photographer. The vast majority of those readers aren’t looking to use that camera for their professional career, they’re looking to use it just like you did. Your experiences and mindset can be very relatable and attract many repeat readers. When you have the mindset of an entrepreneur, you can accomplish anything. ๐ Thanks for the comment!
To be honest you’ve delivered some great points here. With regards to Jaaxy, is this a tool that helps us find popular keywords or how does it work exactly? Keywords are the words people type into search boxes right? I’d really enjoy it if I had a tool that gave me topics to write about.
What Jaaxy does as a keyword research tool is it gives you the data that shows how much traffic you can expect from a keyword along with how many other competing sites are ranking for that same keyword. This allows you to create content that is the answer to the popular searches your target audience is making so that your content will rank on the front page of those searches and get the biggest audience. There are so many other metrics to Jaaxy as well that make it the most thorough keyword research tool I’ve seen online. You can check out my full Jaaxy review here. Thanks for the comment!
I love this article! I especially like what you said about show, don’t tell. This should stand in every single facet of writing. Showing the audience, through writing, rather than telling them will not only grant you and your product more credibility, showing will up a conversion rate for any product you’re marketing. Show them how such products are beneficial and how they’ve benefitted you and you will succeed in this field. Is this something covered in the training platform you mention at the end?
Absolutely. The “show” don’t “tell” point is one that, when you hear it, sounds like an obvious one, but it’s so true and important. It’s all about making a connection with your reader. This leads to a better user experience, return visitors, and a high percentage of conversions. Thanks for the comment ๐
Outstanding post. The “wall of text” section had me literally laughing out loud. I admit to taking a bit of a minimalist approach to using images. I do avoid “the wall of text,” and typically start with a big bright picture but otherwise my strategy is to break up paragraphs so there is a fair amount of white space so people don’t feel too overwhelmed. I recently came across a site that just had so many images it became distracting and made it difficult to follow the text, so I suppose it’s a balance. Also a balance, I think, is the one between creating an attention-grabbing headline, and yet trying avoid that clckbaity feel. I find myself struggling with that one at times.
Thanks again, really enjoyed it. Great tips, one of which I’m going to try to implement today! (My About Me section needs some work.)
Very glad this helped you, and I’m glad you enjoyed the wall of text portion lol. I agree that balance is definitely very key. Too much of anything can take away from the overall direction of the post. Thanks so much for the great comment!
Great article! I’ve been looking into affiliate marketing as a way to make money online, and I am currently trying to do so myself. If you had to pick one of these tips for affiliate marketing articles to really put your article over the top, what would it be? Thanks for the awesome article!
Thanks for the kind words. I’m not sure if there’s just one tip you can take away from this. They all really go hand in hand the more you think about it. For example, keyword research is huge. That’s what brings you real, organic traffic, and without traffic there’s no possibility for revenue, right? At the same time, if you don’t know your target audience and haven’t found your niche, or if you have zero visuals in your posts you’re not going to be successful either. It’s really just a matter of implementing these steps into a natural routine. Best of luck to you!
Man as soon as I seen the title of your post,, I was like yes sir here we go, perfect! I have been at this affiliate marketing thing for about a month now and this info has helped out a lot. First thing is I am going to go back and edit my about me with a photo. Can’t believe I didn’t think to do that but sure am glad I read your post if for nothing else but to do that. Thank you!
Really glad to help. Sometimes it’s the little things that really make or break your conversion rate. Who would have thought that a simple picture could affect the way your audience sees you. It’s common sense really, and it’s a no-brainer in every other aspect of life, but it’s easily forgotten about in online business. Thanks for the comment!
