Let’s compare two big hitters in the world of affiliate marketing training platforms: Wealthy Affiliate vs Legendary Marketer.
Let’s cut to the chase with this review and not bore you with endless details and features so you can get to the bare bones of what each platform offers and make an informed decision.
Wealthy Affiliate vs Legendary Marketer: Which Is Better?
In my opinion, Wealthy Affiliate offers a more straightforward and true affiliate marketing training experience at a more affordable cost without the upsells. Legendary Marketer is geared more toward the high ticket resell of their platform and the $2500 upsell is pricey.
Both of these affiliate marketing training platforms use different methods to achieve their goals. Wealthy Affiliate is the experienced veteran and has a reputation for being beginner-friendly with a community filled with entrepreneurial minded marketers. Legendary Marketer, the newer contender, is a bit more sleek and flashy and comes with a more dynamic, high-ticket marketing approach.
In this review I’ll compare core training, tools and resources, earning potential, overall cost, and give objective pros and cons for each.

Training and Educational Resources
The sheer volume of training at Wealthy Affiliate is hard to match. Step by step core training, live streamed expert classes for deep diving into a specific area of study, and a catalogue of blogs and tutorials that are set up with the beginner affiliate marketer in mind put it at the top of affiliate marketing training platforms.
On the other hand, Legendary Marketer takes a different approach. The 15-day business builder challenge is intense as it pushes high-ticket affiliate marketing. Less training is potentially made up for with a high risk / high reward commission structure. Adding to that are masterclasses on different aspects of affiliate marketing and live virtual training events.
Tools and Resources for Business Growth
Every training platform needs to provide the end user with tools and resources so they can accomplish their goals, right?
Wealthy Affiliate provides an all-in-one, one stop shop platform. In addition to its training it includes a keyword research tool, a website builder, a content creation tool, and managed WordPress hosting. Plus, you get website analytics and 24/7 tech support. And that site support is second to none.
In contrast, Legendary Marketer makes its focus less on tools and more on teaching you how to leverage external platforms and resources for building. They emphasize learning copywriting, sales funnels, email marketing, and more.
One point to be made here that goes back to the volume of training Wealthy Affiliate has: Wealthy Affiliate teaches copywriting, sales funnels, email marketing, etc., as well.
Affiliate Commissions and Earning Potential
Here is where some of the differences between the platforms start to make a bigger difference.
Wealthy Affiliate offers a bit more freedom in that you can build and monetize niche websites across any niches you like along with taking part in their optional affiliate program with its recurring commission structure.
You could choose to never promote Wealthy Affiliate if you didn’t want to, or to promote its training platform side by side with your other niche websites. It’s left up to you.
Legendary Marketer, however, emphasizes the high-ticket path to commissions. Its focus is to buy and resell the Legendary Marketer package of products. Their products and programs are more expensive, which does mean higher potential earnings per sale. The catch? You need to purchase a product to be eligible to earn commissions from it.
Some of the Legendary Marketer complaints you’ll see a bit later in this post have to do with its “sell and resell” structure.
Pros and Cons of Wealthy Affiliate and Legendary Marketer
Now we’ve got to the part of our journey where we look at the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Wealthy Affiliate is:
- offers great value for its price
- But, it’s not as flashy as some may like
- The training might be considered a bit slow-paced for those who are looking for a quick launch into the world of high-ticket sales.
Legendary Marketer is
- built for speed
- Its training is designed to drive fast results with high-ticket items
- But beware – it’s MUCH pricier
- and to earn high commissions, you must be ready to invest in their higher-cost programs
- and here’s a big downer: its testimonials leave you with a substantial amount of doubt
Are You Ready for the Possible Deal Breaking Testimonials?
The key difference between Wealthy Affiliate and Legendary Marketer are in the testimonials. The amount of upset Legendary Marketer customers are hard to ignore. When you scroll through Legendary Marketer’s Trustpilot reviews it’s the same complaints over and over (2.3 out of 5 rating).
Why does this happen? It’s 100% because of Legendary Marketer’s costs and upsells.
Legendary Marketer’s “coaching calls” turn more into high pressure sales calls. Low buy-ins turn into massive upsells. Every bit of Legendary Marketer’s platform is about selling and reselling Legendary Marketer. To be fair, they’re not all bad, but reading through them will definitely make you think twice.
In contrast, Wealthy Affiliate’s Trust Pilot reviews are much higher and much more positive (4.9 out of 5 rating). There are no unrealistic promises of revenue or “Done For You” red flags inside Wealthy Affiliate. Maybe most importantly, you won’t be left with an empty bank account either.

If you’re looking for consistency and true affiliate marketing training that delvers, Wealthy Affiliate wins this comparison review. If you want high ticket commissions with a bit of risk, Legendary Marketer could be more your style.
Even as someone who personally owes his success to Wealthy Affiliate, I’ve been as objective as possible in laying out this review. I made it a point to cut to the chase and bottom line with each platform.
What’s your style of learning? How much risk do you want to take on as you’re learning a new business? Are you about sell and resell with high commission potential, or do you want consistency?
- If you’re a newcomer looking for a comprehensive platform that will guide you step by step on a budget, Wealthy Affiliate may be your platform of choice.
- But if you’re all about those high-ticket items and are ready to spend much more to potentially earn more quickly, Legendary Marketer might be what you’re looking for.

Very nice article, I like the comparison and the explanation of the upsell for Legendary, I’ve seen a lot of unhappy people with that and argue it is just a pyramid structure. The upsell almost got me personally. I think it is a well balanced article. Thank you for taking the time.

Glad you enjoyed this! Thank you!
I really appreciate the work you have put into comparing the two. I feel that you were fair and coming from a person who was not happy with LM I appreciated that you showcased the “not so pretty” upsells. I really do enjoy wealthy affiliate and have now found some that works really well along side this. Thanks for a great article and wonderfully written comparison!

Glad you enjoyed this! There are way too may high-ticket training platforms following LM’s same model and so many people get taken by surprise. Thanks for your comment!
It sounds like Legendary Marketer is an expensive way to go, I feel like even the less expensive packages that lead up to the big package are still expensive, would you say this is correct? What dose it take to be successful using the Wealthy Affiliate platform? Thanks for the post!
Eric Cantu says
Success with any business, online or traditional, comes from hard work, consistency, and perseverance. Personally, the training at WA sets you up for success. All you have to do is put in the work. I’m personally not a fan of the high-ticket marketing that you see with Legendary Marketer. Affiliate marketing is more than just sell and resell and that’s what LM appears to be focused on. Thanks for the comment!
