Have you seen the ads on the internet yet? “Get paid to take surveys online!” Swagbucks jumped on the scene and described a way for everyone to make money online with ease. But just how does Swagbucks work? Is Swagbucks a scam or legit?
So many opportunities are out there on the internet that promise making money online with ease. Learning how to capitalize off the internet as a true resource is possible. But if you’ve spent the time researching these opportunities like I have then you know, unfortunately, that so many of these “opportunities” are just hype machines after your money.
We all know real revenue takes real work to earn.
So where does taking “fun surveys online” stack up? Would merchants really pay out big bucks to have people simply answer questions from their computer?
In this Swagbucks review I’m going to show you exactly how Swagbucks works, how much they pay out, and if it’s really worth your time to look into this popular internet opportunity.
Swagbucks Review: Is Swagbucks a Scam or Legit?
How Much Does Swagbucks Cost to Join?:
$0. You can join Swagbucks free of charge.
Normally this is a huge positive, but as I’m about to detail, you should definitely think about how valuable your time is. Just how much “fun” are these surveys anyway?
What is Swagbucks and how does it work?
Swagbucks has a catchy name and boasts the ability of its members to earn income and gift cards online by taking fun surveys, shopping at a variety of retailers, playing games, watching funny videos, and surfing the web.
But is it a reliable way to earn income online, and is it as easy as promised?
Swagbucks is basically a search engine that pays you in the form of, you guessed it, swag bucks, to install and use their search engine for web searches. You can also earn swag bucks, gift cards, and paypal cash by taking surveys online, watching “fun” videos and completing a few other tasks.
Who owns Swagbucks?
Swagbucks is owned and operated by its parent company Prodege, a provider of digital services.
Swagbucks Pros and Cons
If taking surveys online is your passion then Swagbucks is for you!
Do you sense the sarcasm?
To be fair though, you can earn swag bucks for doing tasks that you are doing anyway. So however minimal their worth (swag bucks are approximately worth $.01 US or 1 penny), over a long period of time you can accumulate rewards.
There’s just so many better ways to make money online. If you’re looking for a more straightforward and consistent way to earn a monthly revenue online, definitely check out my #1 recommendation here. It’s free to start, it delivers, and THERE ARE NO SURVEYS TO FILL OUT!
I took a couple of these “fun” online surveys.
Let’s be absolutely clear on something: There is nothing fun about taking swagbucks online surveys.
These surveys are mind numbing.
As in kneeling down and praying “Please God never make me log in and take another Swagbucks survey again” mind numbing. Further, they’re not exactly short surveys either. Most are 15 minutes and up.
Basic math tells you 50 SB (or $.50 US) for 15 minutes of your time is $2/hr. Even the 6 minute survey works out to only $5/hr.
But let’s say my tastes are different than yours. Maybe you find some of the content entertaining. How much can you expect to make daily?
Here are a few tasks you can complete daily along with their value:
- Using the toolbar atleast once daily – 1 SB/day ($.01 US)
- Taking the daily poll – 1 SB/day ($.01 US)
- Download the Swagbucks TV app and have it running continuously daily – 40 SB/day ($.40 US)
- Download the EntertaiNow app and have it running continuously daily – 30 SB/day ($.30 US)
That’s a whopping $.72 US daily. Not exactly anything to write home about.
Swagbucks Doesn’t Pay Out
I’m not by any means saying that Swagbucks never pays out. If they never paid out they’d be an absolute scam. Unfortunately though, they have a reputation for leaving their users feeling misled. This is also echoed across the internet.
Here are two examples.
I’d be upset too if I took a 20 minute survey and 18 minutes into it found out I didn’t “qualify” and had earned 1 penny for my wasted time.
Is Swagbucks a scam or legit?
While Swagbucks isn’t necessarily a scam, it is simply not a reliable way to earn any type of significant income online. Your time is worth way more than they’re giving your credit for. Don’t waste it on surveys!
My top recommendation to anyone looking to create a consistent monthly revenue online is Wealthy Affiliate. Try it out for yourself and you’ll never look back.
Never go back to taking mind numbing surveys again.
