Commission Hero Review: Why It’s Not Ideal For Beginners

Commission Hero Review

If you’ve seen the Facebook ads, the testimonials, the screenshot flexing around Commission Hero wondering if it’s legit, I hear you. .What finally got me to give it a shot was seeing someone on Reddit say, “It’s not passive at first… but it can become passive once it’s set up.”

I figured, “Worth a shot.” This is my honest review of Commission Hero, what you actually get, what they don’t tell you upfront, and whether it’s worth the money. Spoiler: it’s not for everyone, but it can work.

TL;DR: Is Commission Hero Legit or a Scam?

Commission Hero isn’t a scam, but it’s also not for beginners. It’s a Facebook-ads-heavy affiliate system that requires a $1k-$2k budget minimum and experience with paid ads.

  • Not a scam, but not easy – It’s real, but not a good fit for beginners
  • Big investment required – Easily $2K+ when all is said and done. Not for you if you’re working on a budget
  • Ad account issues are common – Even when following rules, you can have your ads blocked completely, leaving you stuck
  • Support community is solid – Facebook group actually helps
  • Best for ad-driven folks – If you have real experience with paid ads, this could be right up your alley. Not for beginner bloggers or YouTubers with no experience in PPC

What Is Commission Hero?

Special note: this is the second review I’ve done in a row where the main website for the platform is out of commission. When the main website for a platform is completely offline this is a RED FLAG.

Commission Hero is an affiliate marketing course created by Robby Blanchard. His claim to fame? Ranking as the #1 ClickBank affiliate in the world.

The course teaches you how to run Facebook ads to promote affiliate offers, specifically ClickBank products. The idea is to pay for ads, drive traffic to a landing page, collect leads, and bank commissions.

Sounds straightforward, but if there’s one thing right out of the gate that I’m not on-board with, it’s teaching people to use paid ads before they know what converts organically. When you do this wrong you quickly create a money pit where you’re paying hundreds for clicks that go nowhere.

How Much Does Commission Hero Cost?

Let’s get this out of the way: it’s not cheap.

  • The base price is $997 one-time or 2 payments of $597
  • The Pro version upsell is $2,497 one-time or 3 payments of $997
  • You’ll need to budget at least $10–20/day for ads, plus tools like ClickFunnels, tracking software, and email autoresponders

The base version does not include a refund policy. The Pro version includes a 30-day guarantee under specific conditions.

This course ends up costing a lot more than what you see on the sales page. Be ready.

So… What Do You Actually Get?

With the standard version:

  • 6-Week Masterclass (Facebook ads, funnel setup, affiliate offers)
  • ClickBank product strategy
  • Private Facebook group access

With Commission Hero Pro:

  • 8-Week Masterclass
  • Done-for-you templates and swipe files
  • AI-powered ad creation tools
  • Access to coaching calls and live virtual events
  • 30-day money-back guarantee

Robby’s training is solid. But this is 100% Facebook ad-driven. If you’re looking for organic methods like SEO, blogging, or YouTube, this isn’t it.

What I Liked (aka What Kept Me Going)

✅ The System Actually Works (Eventually)

Once I got through the testing phase and dialed in a solid offer, I started seeing results. Not instantly, but seeing those first commissions land showed me it’s real.

But take note, I am not brand new to all this. Pay per click ads are no joke and have a steep learning curve. For someone brand new, I can easily see how they’d find themselves in a huge whole paying for clicks that don’t bring returns.

✅ The Training Is Up-To-Date

No outdated tactics here. Robby constantly updates his strategies for Facebook’s current rules. You’ll learn what’s working right now. This is always a plus.

✅ Real Community (Not Just Fanboys)

The Facebook group isn’t a cheerleader echo chamber. People share real wins, losses, and tips. And that alone helped me push through the frustrating moments. A solid online community is a highly underrated feature for any training platform.

What I Didn’t Like (And Why It’s Not Good For Beginners)

commission hero review ad spend

❌ The Costs Stack Up Fast

Between tools, ad budget, and the upsells, you’ll easily be in over $2,000. And that’s if you already have a laptop and know how to build a page. Add to that the almost inevitable money pit you’ll find yourself in with paid ads, and you realize this isn’t for anyone on a budget.

❌ Getting Your Ads Banned Is Common

Even when following guidelines, Facebook can still flag or ban your account. If you don’t know how to recover or pivot, you’re stuck. Big time.

❌ The “Live” Webinars? Not Actually Live

Yeah… the “live” pitch is just a pre-recorded webinar. Might not be a deal-breaker, but definitely feels misleading when they present it as live Q&A. I see this so often with online business coaching scams that it’s usually the reason I won’t recommend the platform at all.

If you’re not going to be transparent, why should we trust you?

Commission Hero Testimonials

I always do my best to scour forums like Reddit, Quora, and YouTube to get well-rounded data from real people who’ve been inside the platform. Here’s what I found:

✅ Commission Hero Positive Reviews

  • “Proven strategies… detailed videos, actionable guides… robust support community.” – Reddit
  • “I’ve genuinely learned so much from this one and feel it’s as legit as it gets.” – Reddit
  • “It definitely doesn’t start out as passive… once you’re set up… it definitely can become passive.” – Reddit
  • “The 6‑Week MasterClass is no joke… up‑to‑date strategies… real‑world application.” – Jefflenney.com
  • “Facebook Ad Strategies… conversion rates went from ‘meh’ to ‘holy guacamole!’” – jefflenney.com
  • “It is a good technique to generate sufficient money by marketing affiliates.” – aff.ninja

❌ Commission Hero Complaints

  • “Not a scam, but a rip off… If you have to wonder, it’s probably not legit.” – Reddit
  • “Banned ad accounts, hidden costs, overly focused on ClickBank, no refunds… Commission Hero does not have a good reputation… To be successful… a significant additional amount of money is needed, and this is not made clear up front.” – eBiz Facts
  • “He is telling people he’s live and he’s lying!!! … This is absolutely wrong… He’s a liar!” – Reddit
  • “You must be able to devote 10+ hours each week… and invest an additional $1,000+ after paying for the course… Affiliate marketing is not as easy… training is expensive… course material can be confusing.” – eBiz Facts
  • “The hidden costs are the most common complaints… upsells and tools… supplemental fee.” – aff.ninja

I owe all my success to this training. Trust me, it’s worth taking a look.

Final Thoughts

Commission Hero isn’t a scam but it demands real risk, real money, and a real work ethic. If you’re not comfortable throwing $1,000 minimum into ads with no guarantee of return, this probably isn’t your lane.

What do you think? Have you tried Commission Hero or something similar? Would you take a chance on a Facebook-ads-based model if the training was clear? Or do you prefer slower, organic approaches like blogging or YouTube? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your take.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Commission Hero a scam or a legit affiliate marketing program?
Commission Hero is not a scam. It’s a legitimate affiliate course that teaches paid traffic strategies using Facebook ads. But it’s not a magic bullet and comes with high upfront costs.

How much does it really cost to get started with Commission Hero?
You’ll pay $997 for the course, or two payments of $597. If you upgrade to Commission Hero Pro, it’s $2,497 or three payments of $997. Add another $1,000–$2,000 for ads, tools, and funnel software.

Can beginners succeed with Commission Hero in 2025?
Beginners can succeed, but it’s a steep learning curve. You need patience, a solid budget, and willingness to learn Facebook advertising and funnel-building from scratch.

This is a very interesting article that i am certain a lot of people know about.  What I mean if I have heard of Commission Hero, there are thousands and thousands of people who have heard of Hero Commission.  My experience is that when I was personally “researching” Commission Hero, I contacted Support and could not receive any answers at all.  One thing I was eventually promised was making easy money in “3 simple steps”.  I have never believed that is possible!!  Isn’t that false advertising?   Also, when I am asking this, I am not questioning Mr. Blanchard’s “success”, but how does he train you to identify high-converting offers WITH satisfactory commission rates?  I am speculating that takes more than “3 simple steps”.  False advertising again?  Hero Commission may be reported as legit, but I have seen too many red flags.  I haven’t even began to talk about the expenses and time needed.  Thank you for your very interesting review!

    Best wishes to you,

    Kent

I’m surprised that the price isn’t generally lower considering the money you’re going to have to spend on working the product anyway.  That’s basically over $4,000+ altogether.  It’s too bad so many people believe that there’s no way it’s real if you have to pay less than $1000+ upfront.  Thanks for the investigation!
