Let’s talk about the easiest way to travel this world. You don’t have to be rich to travel, what you do need is simply the ability to pull the trigger and take action when an opportunity presents itself.
When I would see people posting all kinds of travel adventures all over Instagram, my first thoughts used to be “ok they make more money than me,” or “there’s two of them, so they’re combining incomes to do this.”
And while many of those people may in fact make way more money than me, the truth is there are PLENTY of cheap flight deals out there that make world travel MUCH easier!
Here’s the one I use (and the best part, it’s free!)
- Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights) is a SPECTACULAR cheap flight alert service that sends you cheap flight alerts from all major airlines free, direct to your inbox. All you have to do is sign up through this link, enter your preferred departure airports (I entered all the major ones in Texas), and then sit back and wait for the emails to come in. I regularly get several per week.
Here’s part of what an email from Going looks like::
When you see a deal like this, all that’s left to do is pull the trigger. Within each email from Going you’ll see a “Sample Search” button that will take you to Google Flights where you can click on the calendar and see all the dates where the flight is this cheap. Schedule your trip, click on Book with the Airline, and you’re done!
I literally use Going for 100% of my travels. No joke.
The other major expense when it comes to travel tends to be your hotel. To all but eliminate this expense I use hotel rewards credit cards that accumulate points as you use them which you can redeem for free nights!
My go-to hotel rewards card is the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant AMEX card. I use it to get free stays literally all the time. I pay all my bills with it, accumulate points, then redeem for free nights. This particular card does have an annual fee of $650, but if you use it to get 3-4 free nights per year, that pays for itself.
Also, if you go through this link to apply for one, you’ll have a referral offer that gives you 185,000 points if you spend $6000 with it in your first 6 months. 185,000 points is basically the equivalent of $1,850 (so yes this is an awesome deal).
If the $650 annual fee is still a bit too high for your liking, there’s another Marriott Bonvoy card you can apply for through this same link with a lower $250 annual fee and a similar referral offer of 155,000 points when you spend $5,000 in your first 6 months.
Where in this world will you travel to first? You deserve to see it! Don’t put off for later the travels you should be taking now. It’s totally doable when you have deals like these!
Have any questions? Feel free to ask me! I’m an open book and I’d love to hear from you!
