You’d probably agree that it’s sometimes hard to tell a legitimate high ticket online business from an online scam. You don’t want to empty your wallet, but how do you know if it’s legit or not? This AWOL Academy review (with video) will cover just how much you’ll really have to spend to get all of AWOL Academy’s training and show if there’s an AWOL Academy scam going on or not.
I first saw the video for AWOL Academy on my Facebook feed. It showed a lavish house and spoke of a “Done For You” system.
No matter what different training programs claim, making money online takes real work. The training offered can be very similar but with very different price points. Because of this, I shelled out the $99 to see exactly what AWOL Academy was all about.
This AWOL Academy review (with video) will break down exactly how much each AWOL Academy training module costs and what each delivers along with AWOL Academy’s updated 2018 pricing. Believe it or not, their pricing actually went up after my initial review.
Is AWOL Academy legit? Is there an AWOL Academy scam? This AWOL Academy review will give you definitive answers to these questions and more.
AWOL Academy Review 2018: Is There Really an AWOL Academy Scam Going On?
Watch the video below and see exactly how much of a budget you’ll need if you’re going to join AWOL Academy. Note the pricing in the video reflects 2017 pricing. See the detailed breakdown below the video for current 2018 prices.
AWOL Academy Review 2018: The Founders
Meet the founders of AWOL Academy, Keala Kenae & Kameron George.
Depending on which online video you see, you’ll probably see one or both of these co-founders. Keala Kenae and Kameron George founded AWOL Academy in 2015. The acronym AWOL stands for “Another Way Of Life”.
Years before, “Project AWOL” was the name of Kameron’s team within a multi-level marking company (MLM) called Empower Network which has since gone bankrupt.
Project AWOL has since become the non-profit, charitable are of AWOL Academy, focusing on helping underdeveloped communities.
After Project AWOL and Empower Network parted ways amicably, Keala and Kameron formed AWOL Academy as their own training platform. You could definitely describe this training as “high ticket”.
After buying in for the initial $99 charge, I can tell you it is one of the most expensive training platforms I’ve researched.
How Much Does AWOL Academy’s Training Cost?
Your buy-in to AWOL Academy is $99.
The $99 buy in hasn’t changed since my initial review. I’m actually going to show you how that purchase by itself isn’t a bad one for the training you receive.
The webinar I attended spent a lot of time talking about the value you’ll get with AWOL Academy without going into the specifics of the pricing of their individual training modules. I think for this reason many justify their $99 expense.
Where many AWOL Academy members get discouraged is that they don’t realize just how expensive AWOL Academy’s full menu of training adds up to.
It’s the a la carte pricing of the increasingly expensive modules that follow that could empty your bank account.
The fact of the matter is that once you purchase all of AWOL Academy’s training modules, you’ll have spent over $10,000, and that’s not even including their Elite package.
Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve just lost cabin pressure.
A statement like that deserves full explanation, so let’s dive into the meat of this AWOL Academy review. Let’s look at the updated pricing of AWOL Academy’s 2018 training, module by module, to see what you get for your $10,000, shall we?
The Individual AWOL Academy Training Modules
$99 Pro Academy: This is the module you get when you buy in. This module is about setting up the foundation of your business. It covers setting up a website, web hosting, setting up your domain email, understanding lead pages, sales funnels, email responders, split testing programs, & gives thorough explanations of affiliate marketing itself.
Keala Kenae walks you step by step through the course lessons within Pro Academy. He’s very thorough through 4 separate modules that include a whopping 25 videos.
This is not a bad investment for $99 considering how much you’re given.
To access this module, you first watch a welcome video, set up your profile, answering questions about yourself & specify your goals, & then watch another video on how Keala & Kameron got started with affiliate marketing.
Finally, after these steps are completed, you’re ready to schedule a coaching call.
I didn’t like some of the language during the coaching call. There were several mentions of “How bad do you want this?”, and “Could you possibly move some money around to free it up? This is your business we’re talking about”.
That being said, it was just a voice on the other end of the phone. No one is forcing anything on you, and when you accept that this is a sales call, you understand.
There are a few upsells within this module itself. As you are walked through landing pages, email auto responders, & split testers, you’re presented with programs to buy.
- The landing page program costs $48-$79 per month
- The email auto responder costs $15 per month
- The split testing program costs $12-$17 per month.
All in all, in my opinion Pro Academy gives you a decent foundation to build on. However, there’s still a lot left to learn within each aspect of affiliate marketing you’ve been introduced to.
With this foundation, you have a general idea of how it all works, but you may need more in terms of specifics. This is where the expenses can begin to add up.
Get your wallet ready. Here come the rest of the a la carte training modules!
To be fair, while these prices may be high, they aren’t exactly hidden. These modules weren’t talked about during the webinar I attended, but everything I’m about to show you is clearly displayed on the AWOL Academy website.
This shows just how important due diligence is when you’re spending close to $100 just to get started with a training platform. I didn’t spend the money to buy these modules.
$447 Inbox Academy
This is training on how to get your email list growing. Your $99 buy-in now seems like nothing compared to the $500 you spend for this module.
Email lists are used to get your message, your offers, and your promotions out to the masses. This training module covers the concepts behind writing compelling emails that your audience will not only open but continue to be engaged with.
Inbox Academy claims to include the “secret strategies used by the world’s best email marketers to magnify the amount of subscribers who see, open, and consume your content so that you maximize your potential with the least amount of effort.”
There’s also a claim that just one of these strategies more than doubled their open rates & clicks. Want to know which one? You’re going to have to spend $447.
$1797 Conversion Academy
When it comes to affiliate marketing, conversions are key. Without conversions you’re simply not making money.
This training module priced at nearly $2000 also claims to have their “most coveted conversion secrets.” It bizarrely boasts of training you to integrate “hypnotic language” to create an “irresistible desire” within your audience to buy your products & services.
I don’t think they’re actually teaching you how to hypnotize your audience. This is surely training on conversion strategies that work versus conversion strategies that don’t based on their research.
$2997 Traffic Academy
Without traffic there’s no customers to convert. Period. End of story.
Understanding how to build consistent traffic is the lifeblood of any affiliate marketer. Looking at this from that perspective, I’d be thinking about buying this module first after the Pro Academy if it wasn’t $3,000.
This module claims to bring “high-converting, laser-targeted traffic that’s ready to buy right now” along with more secrets to flood your website with quality visitors who are ready to buy.
The original pricing of this module was $997. As you can see, it has more than tripled. You shouldn’t be asked to pay $3000 for a module on building traffic. In fact, you can get the best keyword research analysis tool you’ll find online free here.
$5497 Masters Academy
“Learn how to manage your riches.” When I first wrote this review in 2017, this section read “Bear in mind you’ve spent over $6k dollars to this point”. Now this module alone costs almost $6k.
This module covers money management, strategic tax planning, investing, and more.
While I don’t doubt the information and training in these modules are thorough, I just can’t imaging spending this amount of money for it.
Many have reached out to me that if they knew the modules were this expensive they would have never bought in for $99.
$9,997 AWOL Elite
The final module AWOL offers is their “Elite” package. I didn’t find any updated pricing on this module in my research. Being a part of AWOL Elite means you get weekly 2 hour webinars and personal mentoring & private access to Keala and Kameron via an exclusive FB group.
AWOL Academy’s Affiliate Program
The final part of this AWOL Academy review covers their affiliate program. With training modules that cost this much, any affiliate program should bring a potential for heavy returns.
That is, if you know other people willing to pay this much for training.
So how does the AWOL affiliate program work?
- AWOL Academy Affiliate Program Cost: $39.95/month.
- Commissions: 30% of what your referrals purchase
- Access to Done For You sales funnels
- Must purchase Traffic Academy to participate
When you take into account the cost of AWOL Academy’s training modules, 30% commissions could really add up. If you know people willing to pay this much for affiliate marketing training you could definitely have some big commissions.
AWOL Academy Review 2018: What’s the Verdict?
So, finally, is there an AWOL Academy scam we need to be aware of? No there is not. AWOL Academy is a legit, albeit high priced, training program for those with a very big budget.
I would argue that if all you did was buy the $99 Pro Academy and walk away, you would have a great purchase on your hands. Personally, I wouldn’t spend the money to buy the next modules. Building traffic in my opinion is the lifeblood of affiliate marketing, but would I spend $3,000 to learn how to build it?
Are there AWOL Academy success stories out there? Absolutely. And if you are willing to spend that amount of money to make money, I say more power to you, and good luck.
When I passed on AWOL Academy I found the online community that I’m still a part of that I consider to be the best training and mentoring community for building your own successful affiliate marketing business you’ll find on the web. I began in January 2017 and was able to grow steadily to a $4000 month of December in my first year.
I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with it and you can create your free starter account and try it for yourself here.
Do you have AWOL Academy complaints? Are you an AWOL Academy success story? How do you feel about their pricing? Is it too steep? Would you pay $10,000 for training? Looking for an AWOL Academy refund?
